Six Kenyans abducted by Ethiopian soldiers during a raid at Madoadhi village in Moyale district early this week have been released.
Moyale police boss Rono Bunei, said the six were released after harsh interrogation by the soldiers.
The release comes after the Moyale district security team, wrote a protest letter to Ethiopian authorities over last week’s invasion in which the six were abducted.
One of the victims, Sakano Dadacha, who looked weak and tired said that after they were abducted, they were taken to Gobisa millitary camp in Ethiopia where they were beaten up by the soldiers, who demanded to be told the hide outs of two suspected Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) rebels in Kenya.
About 60 Ethipian soldiers crossed the border and invaded Odada village nearly five kilometres from Moyale last week.
Meanwhile two bodies of herdsmen were discovered at Almanata grazing fields in Sololo location , Ubbo division along Kenyan-Ethiopia border with bullet wounds.
The police boss said that the herdsmen, a Borana and Burji went for grazing but did not return in the evening.
However the livestock went back thus raising suspicious and prompting villagers to search for them. Police are investigating the cause of the deaths.
