ADDIS ABABA -- Four people were injured on Tuesday when three separate bombs exploded in the Ethiopian capital, according to police, who said that they were investigating the cause of the blasts. "At about 12.10 pm [0910 GMT], a bomb exploded at Lalibela restaurant. Four civilians were injured and the windows of the restaurant were shattered," Federal Police spokesman Demsach Hailu said. And at "12.50 pm, another bomb exploded around Addis Ketema in Mercato area in a little shop [but] there were no injuries," Demsach added, referring to the area northwest of the capital. Demsach said that a third explosion rocked a district later in the afternoon less than a kilometer (mile) from the Lalibela restaurant, but that it caused no injuries. "A third bomb exploded at the gate of the Hotel and Tourism training center around half past three this afternoon. there was not material damage," he said. Doctors said that the four who were slightly injured had been treated and left hospital. Broken glass littered the area around Lalibela restaurant located in the center of Addis Ababa and police cordoned off the premises as they began their investigation. In late January two grenades exploded in two Addis Ababa residential districts targeting a bank and a hospital causing material damage although no one was injured. Such attacks in the past have been blamed on separatist rebels of the Oromo Liberation Front and Somali radical Islamist group, Al Itihaad Al Islamiya, but there has been not concrete evidence linking the two groups.
