Gunmen seize UN worker in Somalia

People are walking up to 70km in search of waterGunmen in Somalia have kidnapped a United Nations Children's Fund official working in the Lower Juba region.
A UN official said attempts were being made to contact those responsible for seizing US citizen Robert McCarthy and secure his release.
Mr McCarthy had been assessing the effects of drought when he was seized near Afmadow on Wednesday.
The kidnappers are reported to be demanding an undisclosed ransom in return for his release.
Somalia has no functioning central government, and the country is controlled by rival militias.
The United Nations says Somalia is badly hit by the Horn of Africa drought, with some 2m people needing urgent food aid.
