Somalia: Ethiopia rounds up Somali Traditional chiefs

Abudwak 24 March, 06 ( Sh.M.Network) The federal forces of Ethiopia arrested Somali Clan chiefs, who were accused of an attempt to fuel and foment hostility among two Somali clans who recently fought in Yamaarugle district in the Somali state but later their hostilities resolved.

Around nine clan chiefs were rounded up in a village called Galadi after they were accused of fomenting new skirmishes in Yamaarugle.

Sources in Gladi say, these Somali Chiefs were taken to Wardheere region in the Somali state of Ethiopia and there also charges that these clan chiefs were also involved in the previous clashes.

The commander of the federal Forces of Ethiopia, who was a part of the reconciliation efforts to immediate the recent fighting in Yaamaarugle, warned that his forces would arrest anyone who tries to destabilize the situation.
