Reports from Somalia Central regions indicate that joint Ethiopian and Somali militias have taken control of Bandiiradley village some 70 km north of Galkaio capital town of Mudug region on Tuesday from Islamists.
Mohamed Mohamoud Jumale (Agoweyne) spokesman for the Islamists in central Somali regions confirmed that the town of Bandiiraley fell into militiamen headed by Abdi Hasan Awale Qeybdiid supported by Ethiopian soldiers. “I confirm that militiamen loyal to defeated warlord Abdi Qeybdiid took control of Bandiiradley village in Somalia central regions” Mohamed Mohamoud told Garowe Online by phone. Islamic courts militias have been encamped the village, which locates near central Somali Region’s border with Ethiopia. “Abdiqeybdiid militias with the support of Ethiopian and Pun-land militias have taken control of Bandiiradley” Abdi Qaybdiid, former defeated warlord has been organizing armed struggle to regain power in Somalia after he was defeated in the last war at the Capital. No casualties have been reported but the Islamist spokesman Mohamed Mohamoud said that his militiamen left the area after they felt pressure. “We will defeat them soon and we are trying to wage attack on the area” he added. “We are standing for the protection of our land and religion so the Soldiers of Allah are ready to defeat the enemy” he told Garowe Online.
We have sent some soldiers to detect the power of the forces who took Bandiiradley and soon they are back we will start open fighting against Ethiopia and its’ stooges” Mohamed Mohamoud told Garowe Online.
