Following the call from the Oromo Liberation Front, public protest continued in Jima, Ambo, Shashimenie, Alemaya, Aweday, Asebetefera, Dembidelo, Gnbi, Asela, Arusie and Deredawa. The protest has caused an immense damage especially in Alemaya and Aweday. As a result, High schools are not functioning in Harrar and there is massive public arrest in Asebetefery and Aweday. According to the sources, opposition grouped ambushed 6 tracks, which were transferring prisoners from Addis Ababa to Zway. All the prisoners except 30 were set free and five others were injured in the exchange of bullets. Some members of the Federal Police Force are joining the pubic protest. And that is weakening the government’s ability to control the demonstration, sources said. Many houses were burnt in the fire that occurred in the vicinity of the Gonder College. The cause of the fire is still unknown and the regime is imprisoning many people.Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said on Wednesday that CUD leaders and some journalists accused of inciting violence would face treason. The regime has taken some of the 18 thousand Ethiopian youth imprisoned opposing the May election to Welega, Dedesa. The prisoners are in malerious riverbeds with no shelter and adequate food.
