Asmara, 4 March 2008 - Six Ethiopian soldiers arrived in Eritrea recently opposing the TPLF regime’s racist policy and its gross violation of citizen rights, in general, and members of the army, in particular.

The soldiers are Kadir Jemal Abadiga, Abdukadir Edo’o Zambaba, Birhanu Abdi Gemechu, Kedir Mohammed Abasiesie, Eshetu Leta Dechasa, and Michael Gebrekidan Woldu—all are from the Oromo ethnic group.

One of the defecting soldiers, Michael Gebrekidan Woldu, said that members of other ethic groups are isolating those from the Tigray ethnic group as a result of the regime’s racist policy and the seeds of division it is sowing.
